Horizon Innovations

We are always on the lookout for new technologies to expand the range of applications for our customers and to continuously improve our processes—and, by extension, the quality of our products. Since our founding in 1945, we have placed great emphasis on ensuring the quality of our products and bringing new products and innovations to market. Here you can see the innovations we have developed over the years.

Satellite detection of a construction site

The sensor-based GEO TopLED warning light captures real-time information about the specific location and the cordoned-off area of roadwork sites and transmits the data digitally to a designated interface, allowing it to be used for traffic management and/or navigation systems.

Compact and fast: StreetFlash

The compact StreetFlash light provides quick and easy scene lighting: the modules turn on automatically as soon as they are removed from the magnetic carrying mount and sync automatically to create a working light.

Horizon Bike Lane

By combining a speed bump with the Leitboy, you can build bike lanes that are both safe and flexible: This award-winning bike lane provides physical separation.

VWA LED z zestawem solarnym

Our VWA LED with a solar kit allows you to power the mobile warning beacon using renewable energy. Thanks to the solar panel’s folding mechanism, the batteries can be charged even while the vehicle is in transit or parked!

VWT-LED pickup truck from 2017

Horizont has developed a trailer that allows a single worker to transport up to three warning signs and set them up in the shortest possible time.

Development of a new bio-based composite material

Horizont is developing a GPS tracking system for remote monitoring and control of FA vehicles and warning trailers, which can be used nationwide. (DORA and ArbIS)

Digital printing since 2012

Thanks to our integrated digital printing capabilities, we can produce custom orders even in small quantities—for a more personalized touch.

Blow molding technology for plastics since 2007

Thanks to the introduction of blow molding technology, we are able to manufacture our own small-sized warning lights in-house.

Paperless central warehouse since 2004

At the central warehouse in Korbach, a modern warehouse management system equipped with radio terminals and scanners controls all forklifts, storage and retrieval machines, and packing stations.

LED technology since 1996

The first LEDs are being used as light sources in warning lights. Incandescent bulbs are increasingly being phased out of warning lights, warning beacons, and traffic signal heads.

SMD technology since 1994

With the introduction of SMD technology in 1994, Horizont was able to gain new experience in PCB assembly. Since 1996, we have seen significant efficiency gains as well as improvements in the quality of our products.

Ergonomic and computer-assisted storage and retrieval since 1994

The high-bay warehouse in the shipping department will be expanded to include an automated small-parts warehouse. In the purchasing department as well, small parts can be stored and retrieved ergonomically using paternoster systems.

A sensor-controlled, self-learning bottleneck detection system since 1993

Thanks to a special control method, the SQ2 traffic signal system can automatically adjust green and red light durations at bottlenecks based on traffic volume. Set it up, align it, turn it on—and you’re good to go!

Microprocessor technology since 1989

The new SQ2 is a traffic signal system featuring a new microprocessor design. The use of microprocessors is constantly expanding, particularly for safety-related tasks in mobile or semi-stationary traffic signal systems.

High-quality, weather-resistant, impact-resistant, and durable polycarbonate since 1968.

As part of the expansion of our road safety product range, we have begun to consistently use high-quality, durable polycarbonate housings.
